With the 2021 Taliban seizure of Afghanistan, women are experiencing a steep regression of social, political, and economic freedoms. We Are Still Here compiles the perspectives of 13 powerful women from various walks of life, reflecting on Afghanistan’s past, their upbringing, and women’s loss of freedom and joy. It ensures their plight is not forgotten, and reminds us that like us, these women have a right to freedom and dignity. Together we must fight for their place in the free world because Afghanistan is only geographically distant. Extremist ideas know no limits.
