Wright argues that every world-view needs to explain seven signposts that all human societies contend with— Justice, Spirituality, Relationships, Beauty, Freedom, Truth and Power. All cultures and individuals have an inner sense that we need to live up to these ideals and become frustrated when we cannot. Using the Gospel of John as his base, Wright shows how Christianity not only explains each signpost but also why we so often experience them as broken and unattainable. Wright concludes that the Gospels reveal why these signposts are broken and how Christianity provides the vision guidance and hope for how we can make them hole and thereby heal and improve our world.
