Officer Wiley Pope got off on the wrong foot with Linette Elgin, but after he takes a bullet for her in a bank robbery, she gives him a second chance. Back with the Jubilee PD, Wiley is working on a murder investigation from Bowling Green, KY, that connects back to Pope Mountain when a woman comes to the police station, looking to scam Wiley's father by filing abandonment charges for their 7 year-old daughter, Ava. When the woman signs over her parental rights, Wiley agrees to take Ava in, and the little sister Wiley never knew he had quickly finds a way into his heart. As Wiley gets wrapped up in the murder investigation, Linette and Wiley’s relationship slows down to accoodate Ava. But little by little, Linette and Wiley's relationship grows stronger as they slowly earn the young girl's trust. Together, they discover the true meaning of love and family.
