Not long after wildlife biologist Alex Carter gets a field assignment to study wolverines on a wildlife sanctuary in far-off Montana, she is run off the road and threatened by the locals. Her remote cameras deployed in the field record images of a severely injured man lost on the preserve, but searches for him come up empty, and local law enforcement is strangely set on dismissing it altogether. When gunmen trespass onto the preserve and start hunting Alex for what she's witnessed, she realizes too late that she's stumbled onto a far-reaching illegal operation—and she has become the biggest threat.
