After the death of his wife, designer David Winthrop throws himself into his work as a distraction, but worries he's hurting his young son at the same time. His fears are confirmed when the ten-year-old seeks help from Kate Newton, a top divorce attorney, wanting to separate from his father. Kate's work doesn't usually allow her to connect families in this way, so she agrees to help the Winthrops. Soon, she finds herself drawn to the young boy--and warming up to his father, too. Though David bristles at the idea of a stranger getting involved in his family matters, some serious thinking could open his heart to love once again.
