The Home for Wayward Girls
Loretta grew up in the 1990’s at the Home for Wayward Girls, a ranch where her parents continue to abuse young girls. Its residents have been dropped off by parents or by transporters (who forcibly deliver teens to its program). These girls had been caught swearing, smoking, drinking, kissing girls or boys, and often attempting to run away from home. \Afraid of her father since childhood, Loretta’s only reprieve was time spent with residents whom she taught survival tactics should they dare try to escape. That is, until the day she found she had no choice but to grab a rifle to stop her father from sexually abusing her best friend. With no option but to flee, Loretta hitchhikes across the country, eventually ending up in New York, where she works to prevent the same thing from happening to other girls like her.
